Radius Ski Development and Heli-ski Programme is designed for the accomplished skier who wants to achieve goals beyond the norm. The Radius Programme will allow you to challenge yourself and find out just how good a skier you can become. The Radius Training Team (people like David Lilly, Jonathon Bayntun) will take you on a journey that will develop your ski technique and culminate in heli-ski tours on some of the most awe-inspiring, exhilarating and rarely skied high-altitude routes in the Alps (like haute-route, Aeschihorn, Pigne d’Arolla, Wildhorn, Petit Combin, Alphubel, Monte Rosa). Accommodation in places like Zermatt, Saas Fee, St-Luc, Grimentz, Anzere, Crans-Montana and Arolla.s

The Radius Locations

We have chosen St-Luc and Zermatt as our Radius resorts for the 2008 season because they meet the following criteria, all of which are vital components of the Radius experience:

  • High altitude, snow-sure mountains
  • Easy access to helicopter lift-off point
  • Enormously varied and challenging terrain
  • Access to untracked snow
  • The perfect accommodation and relaxation facilities

Weather and Snow Conditions Waiver

The programme we have planned for you is subject to weather and snow conditions. Helicopter lifts are a particular case in point: if visibility or snow conditions are not good, the helicopters simply cannot fly. As a result we may decide to move the planned days around, heli-skiing earlier in the week, if that is an option, and carrying out the technical training later on, or to mix up the days as conditions may allow. If this happens we will always choose heli-ski descents that suit your skill level at the time but will always attempt drop-offs on our preferred advertised summits. In the event of any or all helicopter skiing having to be cancelled during your week, we will refund the cost of the helicopters. In this scenario we will consider other off-piste and training days, possible randonnée (ski touring) treks and even the opportunity to take the helicopters to areas of the Alps offering the necessary conditions for heli-skiing.
